student life CAMP | July 8 - 12, 2024 | unc-asheville
For the summer of 2024, our students will be heading to Student Life REC Camp hosted on the campus of UNC-Asheville. Information about the camp and the campus is available here. Stay tuned starting in the spring for more details.
At North Roanoke, we love seeing students grow in a love for Christ and a love for others as we help equip them for lifelong service to King Jesus. To do this, we emphasize four key passions:
a passion for christThe gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation (Rom 1:16). This means the certain hope and lasting joy God intends for students to know is available only through faith in Jesus Christ. Students who participate in the student ministry are immersed in the good news of the gospel and equipped to live their lives for the glory of Christ our ruling and resurrected King.

A PASSION FOR the bibleWe believe every word of the Bible, the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is perfect, relevant, and carries the authority of God Himself. We treasure the Bible because God makes Himself known to us in it. The Bible teaches us how to know, honor, and serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is why we have a passion for the Bible!
|
A PASSION FOR othersThe two greatest commandments in the Bible are to love God with all of our being and to love others as we love ourselves. Jesus tells us these two commands are the sum of the entire law. We are committed to showing love for the people around us in our words and our actions. God has shown us supreme love in sending His Son, and we are committed to showing His love to others.

A PASSION FOR the nations
All people are sinners in need of God’s salvation which means they must hear the gospel. Christ our King has commissioned us to go to all nations with the good news that Jesus saves! We equip students to participate in Christ’s global mission by teaching about church planting, taking mission trips, both domestic and international, praying for missions and missionaries, and asking God to raise up new missionaries from within the student ministry. Jesus has come to save people from all nations, and we are passionate about reaching them with the gospel.

making the most of a moment
The teen years are crucial in developing mature followers of Christ. That is why, in addition to offering fun games and events in a loving and supportive environment, we also teach the Bible. Through consistent exposure to the Bible, students learn more of our Savior and how to follow Him in obedience.
We love each student and want what is absolutely best for them. This is why we are passionate about seeing every student grow in his/her knowledge of God and walk with Christ. If a student fully engages with the student ministry from grades 6–12, they will have every opportunity to enter college, vocational training, or a career well-equipped to be faithful members of Christ’s church and capable of giving to anyone who may ask a reason for the hope that is within them. Students are capable of being and doing great things and that includes being a generation of men and women who will do great things in the Name of Jesus Christ our King. We are committed to nothing less for the students entrusted to the student ministry at North Roanoke.
