North Roanoke is blessed to have a strong history of supporting and participating in the work of taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. Being a healthy church can really be summarized in three major categories: being a church that truly follows Jesus and strives to keep and live His Word, striving to impact your local community, and taking an active role in getting the gospel to places and people who have little to no access to the gospel. That is why, at North Roanoke, we like to say that our aim is to "be Christ's church, impact the Valley, and reach the world all for the glory of King Jesus."

Carolina, Puerto rico
Currently, we are supporting the efforts of pastor and church planter, Andrés Laracuente who has planted Iglesia Bíblica Metro in his hometown of Carolina, Puerto Rico. Our church first began work in Puerto Rico in the capacity of offering disaster relief in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in 2017. As we served there, we learned of a tremendous need to establish gospel-centered churches on the island. As a result, we send mission teams to assist Iglesia Biblica Metro (Metro Bible Church) though sports camps, VBS, and other mission efforts. The city of Carolina is home to 200,000 Puerto Ricans and is a part of the greater San Juan capital region which is home to approximately 1.5 million people.

missions policies and other documents
Because we believe every church member should be encouraged and have an opportunity to participate in a short-term missions trip, a portion of our annual budget is designated to provide partial scholarships to assist members participating in a church-organized missions effort. Even if you do not need scholarship assistance, please complete the scholarship application below to indicate your interest in the upcoming trip. A completed scholarship application is how our missions pastor knows you wish to participate in the upcoming trip.
missions partners
North Roanoke is blessed to be able to send a significant portion of our budget to missions agencies focused on the work of strengthening and planting churches in our Commonwealth, across the United States, and around the world. In addition to our support for the SBC of Virginia and the SBC, we also provide direct support to the International Mission Board. In other words, our church not only goes on on mission and prays for missions and missionaries, we also give to support the training and sending of church planters and missionaries at home and, especially, around the world to get the gospel to peoples who otherwise may not have the opportunity to hear of how they can be saved by Jesus.
